Dear Researchers,

In "Art, Design and Manipulation" symposium we aim to discuss the problematic of contemporary art and design as a global instrument with respect to the notion of manipulation through the concepts such as culture industry, knowledge/ power, knowledge/ information, real/ reality, fiction/ re-editing, etc....

We are looking forward to assessing the possibilities of art and criticism on the ground where significance of concepts such as globalization, digitalization, multiculturalism and extremity of disciplinarity are prominent: The changing forms of the relationship between art and society, the functionalization of this relationship, the growing relevance of art within the areas of design, communication and media, the opportunities provided by this relationship and the problems precipitated by this relationship.  Also, we particularly intend to examine to what extent art and design is the determining factor of cultural transformation in social areas.

In this context, besides the functional usage of art, we aim to discuss the possibilities of autonomous art production.
